The Kay County Amateur Radio Club supports the activities of the Amateur Radio ("Ham") community throughout Kay County and the North Central Oklahoma area including Ponca City, Shidler, Tonkawa, Newkirk, and Blackwell.

The Kay County Amateur Radio Club operates three open FM repeaters located in the Ponca City area and two repeaters in Blackwell, Oklahoma. If you are a licensed Amateur Radio operator, join us on the air!
  The Ponca City VHF repeaters are: 146.970 MHz (PL 88.5) and 146.730 MHz (PL 88.5). The UHF repeater is 444.700 MHz (PL 88.5) and is  linked to the Tulsa Amateur Radio Club Linked System.

In Blackwell, the VHF repeater is on 145.310 MHz (no tone) and the UHF repeater is on 444.950 MHz (no tone).

In addition to the local club operated repeaters a Winlink gateway on 145.100 MHz
  (no tone) is available 24/7 courtesy of Earl, W5ZXC. There is also a DMR Brandmeister repeater on 444.750 MHz + 5 (CC1) operated by K5BOX.

Club meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM.
  Meetings are held at the VFW Post 1201, 2821 E. Prospect, in Ponca City.  The club holds weekly nets, open to all licensed amatuers, on the 146.970 MHz repeater at 9:00 p.m. every Monday night and at 9:00 p.m. every Tuesday night on the 145.31 MHz repeater. There is also an informal simplex net on 146.52 on Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m.

Licensing exams (VE sessions) are held on the first Monday of even numbered months. Please use the information on the 'Contact Us' page to let us know if you are interested in taking an exam.
